American-Inspired.
Our customer who lives in Cambridgeshire gave us an unusual challenge to personalise the appearance of their double aspect garage with an elegant design in keeping with contemporary/modern garage doors seen in America. These often emphasise clean lines and feature frosted glazing in symmetrical panelled stying.
Delivering a solution to this unique request, Eastern Garage Doors proposed a high-quality JDUK Premier-Line sectional garage door with a white smooth finish to complement the home’s exterior.
Our Surveyor, Adam, presented options to support this requirement for:
- A custom-made sleek white frame and door finish;
- With corrosion-resistant internal hinges that match the scheme;and
- Opaque double pane polymer windows with a colour match frame.
Whilst the design allows natural light to filter through into the garage and maintain privacy, it also delivers good weather resistance and insulation. This is reflected in the specification details:
- Air permeability – Class 3
- Watertightness – Class 3
- Resistance to wind load – Class 5/2332 Pa
- Thermal resistance – 4.50 W/m²K
- Sound insulation – 27 dB
To operate the door safely and securely, tracks were fitted with a patented “Smart Connection” system which incorporate dual side tension springs to support the smooth, silent operation of the rollers. These sit in robust steel tracks to provide a well-balanced, safe movement and an exceptional product life span.
Powerful automation was added using a user-friendly Select Line System which supports fail-safe operation via a wireless wall switch and handheld transmitters to open and close the door with ease.
To carry out the project efficiently and effectively we followed these steps:
Pre-Installation site assessment.
Eastern Garage Door’s technician visited the site to measure the garage opening and assess structural considerations. This assessment ensured the door would fit precisely.
Door manufacturing and quality assurance.
We placed an order for the made to measure garage door and coordinated the timing of the fitting day with JDUK, keeping the customer updated on progress in line with an agreed schedule. The door was made to meet the BS EN 13241 standard complete with a CE quality mark.
Delivery and Installation.
Once the door was delivered, the installation took place over a single day to minimise inconvenience. The team removed the old door, installed the new door, and connected it to the automatic opener system. They conducted tests on the opening and closing mechanisms, safety features, and showed the customer how to operate it.
